Peter E.D. Love is a John Curtin Distinguished Professor at Curtin University. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. He was also a member of the inaugural Australian Research Council's Engineering and Environmental Science Panel for the 2010/11 Excellence in Australian Research Exercise.

Peter was instrumental in the creation of Rethinking Construction (also known as The Egan Report) - which was the 1998 report of the UK Construction Task Force to the then Deputy Prime Minister, John Prescott, on the scope for improving the quality and efficiency of UK construction.

In his most recent peer-reviewed paper "Quality II: A new paradigm for construction", Professor Love argues that a different approach is required to Construction Quality - Quality II

Quality II as an organizational/project system that acknowledges that errors happen and, regardless of whether their outcomes are positive (e.g., innovation) or negative (e.g., rework), quickly adapts and responds by ‘learning through’ their occurrence to enable sustained continuous improvement.
Instead of demonising mistakes and rework, we should recognise that mistakes (AKA non-conformance and rework) are inevitable and focus on prevention.
